Kathryn Kilvington, of Lansing, Michigan, age 96, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at McLaren-Greater Lansing Hospital, Greenlawn Campus, in Lansing.

She was born on August 3, 1916 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Leroy and Jenny (Houseman) Christensen. She had lived in the area most of her life and attended Millville United Methodist Church in Stockbridge and Grovenburg United Methodist Church in Holt. She enjoyed shopping, bingo, playing cards, and road trips.

Surviving are three children: K. Bill (Vivian) Kilvington of South Carolina, T. Butch (Beatrice) Kilvington of Lansing, and Diane (Marvin) Gauss of Webberville; her siblings: Ted (Bernice) Christensen of Indiana, Gene Riker of Holland, MI, and Margie Chrystler of Belding, MI; and 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Richard, and her husband, Kenneth W. Kilvington.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Millville United Methodist Church, Stockbridge, with Rev. Robert J. Freysinger officiating. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Lansing.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Millville United Methodist Church or Grovenburg United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
