Mary Frances Greene Hamilton, born November 1st 1924 in Paris, Bourbon County, Kentucky, departed this life as the matriarch of her family group, having lived 97 years. Mary was the daughter of Matthew Greene and Fannie Mae O'Rear Greene, both from Montgomery County, Kentucky. Later, following the early death of Mary's mother, Marcia Mack Greene of Winchester, KY became her step-mother raising her after the families move to Loveland, OH. Her siblings were Helena (Gray- Wharton), Donald, Albert (Kojeena Tanaka), Robin (Lewis- Lyons) and Jeanine.

Mary was united in marriage to Herbert Hood and they became the parents of daughters Helen, (Raymond Gordon) and Roberta (Wayne Dixie). Her subsequent marriage to Lawrence Hamilton Sr. produced three children to this union, Lawrence Jr. (Linda Duncan Hamilton) Marcia Hamilton (Britt- LaRue) and Bonita Hamilton (Emanuele Adekeye). Mary had 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and three great- great grandchildren. Mary had numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Mary was a devoted spouse and loving mother in her home who also worked as a domestic to promote the comfort of her household and supported a middle class upward mobility for her children. She was an old school disciplinarian and lacked an academic education beyond the Junior High level but she was well educated in a down to earth manner and could be quite articulate in the common vernacular in getting people told using expressive terms as to just how she felt. She was loved by her family and endearing to her friends who were inspired by her work ethic, admiring of her competitive tenacity in bowling, card playing, and other games and sports of chance. She loved gardening, out of doors activities, animals, and especially her dogs. She enjoyed traveling, family gatherings and reunions.

Mary grew up in the church and was a charitable member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Loveland and the Loveland Predestinarian Baptist Church. As a testimony to her Christian service she worked in the church and could be often heard calling upon the name of her LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST as her comforter and healer.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday, May 10 from 9-10 AM in the Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N. Riverside Ave., Loveland where a Homegoing Service will follow at 10 AM. Interment Kerr Cemetery.
