George Vernon Yancey age 86 of Houston, Texas passed away June 2, 2013. He was born in Smithville, Texas on May 25, 1927. George graduated from Smithville High School and after graduating joined the US Marines in June of 1945. After serving his country, he settled in Houston and began taking engineering classes at University of Houston. George had a career in Real Estate, for his company George Realty Company, Inc., and had a passion for Real Estate, Politics and the Stock Market.
He is survived by daughters, Barbara Parmlee, Kathleen Weeden and Vivian Yancey, grandchildren, Angie, George, Christy, Glenn, Tracy, Sam and Keri and 9 Great Grand children and one Great Great Grandchild, sisters, Bobbie Jones, Leah Kubicek, and JoAnn Hofferick and brothers, Tom Yancey, John Yancey and Larry Yancey. Visitation will begin on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 12:30 p. m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home with interment to follow.
