John W. Eddy was the son of John Eddy & Elizabeth Kughn/Kuhn. Born about 1839, enlisted in Waynesburg on 4 September 1862 into Co A 140th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers. John was wounded during the war at the Battle of Gettysburg, was captured and he was sent to a Confederate Prison in Richmond Virginia where he died on 27 January 1864.
