Age 74. Omaha. Preceded in death by daughter Janis McLaughlin; grandson Christopher Jay Morton; parents, Lawrence and Winifred; brother Harvey. Survived by wife Sydney "Jo" of 53 years; children, Jeffrey, Dr. Jon (Elizabeth), Joy (Curran) Quinlivan; grandchildren, Jeffrey Scott, Andria, Lyndsay, James, Justine, Alex, Heather, Emily, Reece, Brady, Sean, William; sister Martha (Jim) Lemons; brother Larry; brother-in-law Raymond Bridwell. Jim was a passionate supporter of amateur, collegiate, and professional ice hockey. His career with softball began in 1964 and he was instrumental in the advancement of the Omaha Softball Association. He was inducted into the Metro Omaha Softball Hall of Fame.
VISITATION with the family Thursday 5-7pm at the mortuary. FUNERAL SERVICE Friday 10am at Northwest Hills United Church of Christ, 9334 Fort St. Private Interment West Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Northwest Hills United Church of Christ or Methodist Cardiac Unit.
