Audrey Jane (Hall) Adams, a native of Portsmouth, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 3, 2013. She had resided at Hill View Retirement Center since March 2006.
Audrey was born Feb. 5, 1926, in Portsmouth; a daughter of the late James McKinley Hall and Bertha Lee James Hall. She was united in marriage to the late Billy Lee Adams on Jan. 19, 1945, in Portsmouth, and they had nine children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Billy Lee Adams; two sons, Samuel Joseph Adams and James Herbert Adams, and three brothers, Gilbert Hall, Herbert Hall, and Charles James.
Audrey was a devoted wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. She was a former member of the Salvation Army of Portsmouth where she was a Sunday school teacher, choir member and a volunteer bell ringer for many years.
Audrey is survived by the following: A sister, Mildred of Portsmouth; seven children, seven children, 27 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Rubyville Community Church with Pastors Calvin Ray Evans Jr. and Brian Baer officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery will be under the direction of the D.W. Swick Funeral Home.
