Lana Gayle Brown, 66, of Palestine, Texas died June 1, 2013 in Tyler, Texas. Burial at Land of Memory Cemetery is under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home. Mrs. Brown was born October 18, 1946 in Joplin, Missouri to the late Riley and Roberta Parrish. She was raised in Joplin and spent the last 30 years of her life in Palestine. She was a Baptist and worked in the Palestine High School cafeteria for many years. She also was a counselor at the Crisis Center Safe House. She is survived by her husband, Steve Brown of Palestine; daughters, Kelly Savell of Joplin, Missouri, and Tracey LaRue of Elkhart; sisters, Kay Lasswell of Duenweg, Missouri, and Cindy Atteberry of Joplin; grandchildren, Brandi Mullenax of Palestine, Doyle LaRue of Elkhart, and Dylan Sifers of Elkhart; and nephew, Jim McMillen.
