Laura Dodd died in Aztec, N.M. on Monday, Jan. 27. Funeral services will be held from the Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home Chapel in Terrell at 10:00a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
Laura Ella Dodd was born to William and Mandy Ella Sheats on Feb. 26, 1893, in Kaufman County. She lived most of her life in Texas except for the past four and a half years that were spent in New Mexico. She was an active member and supporter of the Church of Christ. She was the last survivor of the nine children born to Mr. and Mrs. Sheats.
She was married to Boliver H. Dodd in 1910. They were the parents of six children.
Mrs. Dodd was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Master Sgt. Harrison Leroy Dodd who served in the U.S. Marines; a daughter, Nadine Albritton; and an infant son.
Survivors include two daughters, Hettie Gauthier of Bloomfield, New Mexico, and Faye Windham of Dallas; one son, Norval Dee Dodd of Ben Wheeler; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
