74, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at home with her family by her side.

Muriel was born on Nov. 24, 1934, in Rolling Prairie, to the late Archie and Edna (Suida) Rehlander.

On Sept. 15, 1956, she married Bert Lekarczyk; he survives along with their children, Bert "Tony" Lekarczyk of Mishawaka, Linda Wilson of Morganton, N.C., Debbie Lekarczyk of Noblesville, Ind., Lori (Mark) Galyean of Westfield, Ind., and Greg Lekarczyk of South Bend; nine grandchildren, Carrianne, Brad, Nicole, Katie, Matt, Zach, Madison, Brayden, and Tyler; and her sister, Marlene Coil, La Porte.

Muriel was a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church and was a former softball coach at St. Adalbert Catholic School. She was a doll collector and enjoyed taking care of her family.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 4, 2009 from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend. Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend IN 46637.
