Corporal Adams was a member of Company I, 3rd Battalion, 34th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy in Korea on July 7, 1950, forced to march to North Korea on the "Tiger Death March", and at Hanjang-ni, North Korea on December 31, 1950. His remains were not recovered. Corporal Adams was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Prisoner of War Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
