MRS. E.L. BREWER DIES AT OAKPLAIN
LONG ILLNESS OF HEART DISEASE FATAL FOR BELOVED CITIZEN
Mrs. E.L. Brewer died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.O. Gossett, at Oak Plains at 4:30 this morning, at the age of seventy years. She had been a sufferer of heart trouble for several years and had been confined to her room for four or five months during which time she has suffered greatly.
The funeral will be conducted at the residence near Oak Plains tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at 10 o'clock and interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery at 12 o'clock. The services will be in charge of her pastor, the Rev. C.P. Givens and assisted by the Rev. B.B. Pennington, of Madison Street Church. Pallbearers will be J.W. Hunter, C.M. Hunter, G.O. Brown, C.E. Murphy, Dr. W.L. Macon and G.M. Fox.
Surviving Mrs. Brewer are her husband and five children, L.V. Brewer of this city, Glenn R. Brewer, Louisville; Mrs. J.B. Watson, Neptune, Wy.; Mrs. C.O. Gossett and W.H. Brewer, of Oakplains. Surviving brothers and sisters are Mrs. C.W. Patrick, Peacher Mill; Mrs. J.R. Pennington, Pleasant View; Mrs. N.E. Bagwell, Oak Grove, Ky., and Mrs. J.W. Adams, Cedar Hill.
Nearly forty-nine years ago Mr. and Mrs. Brewer were married and their union has been a happy, devoted one. In early childhood she professed religion and joined the Methodist church, which she loved and served. Her life was one of marked service to her family, her church and her community.
