Mrs. Brooks died June 17, 2007, in a Tyler hospital.
She was born July 27, 1935, in Smith County and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Jackson High School and was a former presser in a laundry and a member of Mount Eria Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters.
Survivors include son, Ira Gene Brooks, Winona; brothers, Joe Berry and King Berry, both of Winona; and sisters, Pauline Hooper, Carthage, Lois March, Polly Jackson and Judy Smith, all of Winona.
Pallbearers are Lester Kelly, Gordon Ray Johnson, Robert Johnson, Leonard Mosley, Ricky Berry, Fitzgerald Jackson and Clemmie March.
Honorary pallbearers are family members.
