Michael Schmidlkofer, 72, died at his home on Water street, Chilton, Tuesday. He had been in failing health for about six months.

Funeral services will be at St. Mary’s church on Saturday. Father Joseph Bartelme, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Schmidlkofer was born at Johnsburg, Fond du Lac County, December 11, 1879, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ulrich Schmidlkofer. He grew up in Johnsburg and received his education in the parochial school there. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Diedrich, February 23, 1909 at St. Mary’s church Stockbridge. Mrs. Schmidlkofer died August 1, 1950.

Mr. Schmidlkofer was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary’s. He had been employed for many years by the Aluminum Specialty Company.

Survivors are two sons, Ulrich of Wausau and Reuben of Chilton; three daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Anita) LaPorte, Mrs. Charles (Helen) Joslyn, both of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Alfred (Margaret) Hackbarth at home; four brothers, Joseph, Nicholas and Hubert, all of Chilton, Jacob of Kaukauna, four sisters, Mrs. Petronella Keuler, Miss Louise Schmidlkofer and Mrs. Barbara Keuler, all of Chilton, and Mrs. Kate Keuler, Stockbridge; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and a sister.
