Edmond Thomas Cobley was the son of Thomas Cobley and Cora Rake Cobley. He was born in Coal Creek, CO. a little mining town at the foot of the Rocky Mtns. His dad was a coal miner as was his grandfather and gt. grandfather in Wales. He had three siblings, Clarence, Catherine and Lillian. At the age of ten his father moved the family to Long Beach, CA. where he worked for Shell Oil Co. My Dad grew up there and got into trouble there. His mother Cora called him Tuffy and everyone else called him Chub. He never quite made it to 5ft 5in but he was the tallest man I ever knew. He loved people and they loved him back. He married Loraine Glascoe in 1936 and they had ten years of marriage thru the end of the depression and WWII before they adopted me. I don't know how God managed to get us all together but he did a good thing when it happened. I thank him everyday for giving me Chub Cobley for my father and Sis for my mother. They were the best parents ever in this world.
