David and Emily Thrift had no children. His grandfather was Wm. Absalam Thrift, born in 1760 in Loudoun County, Va. (FAG 130445905) & his grandmother Elizabeth Elgin Thrift born in Mt. Vernon, Knox, Ohio(FAG 130378634). His second wife was Hannah Catherine Moffitt Thrift Coleman.(FAG 130378634). His grandfather served in the Revolutionary War from Sept/28,1776 to Nov 28, 1776, when he was 16 years old. He served with Capt. Andrew Russell's Company 5th Va. Regiment. He married after the service, and became a Baptist minister.

Mr. Thrift worked as a laborer and lived in Colo according to a 1880 Census report. In 1900, he and Emily had moved to Nevada and he worked as a confectionery merchant. In 1920, he worked in a restaurant. He and his wife lived in Nevada the rest of their lives.
