SEXTON, BILLY J., 75, passed away on May 27, 2013.

He is preceded in death by mother of his children, Sue Carolyn Johnson Sexton. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Cartmill Sexton; his three children, Karen Lynn English (Capel), Steven Douglas Sexton (Debbie) and Suzanne Michelle Singh (Anoop); grandchildren, Derek Michael Sexton, Emily McKay Sexton, Lura Emmaline English, Julian Vinay Singh, Ajay Oliver Singh and Sunita Noelle Singh; stepchildren, Leslie Cartmill and Jacob Cartmill, half sister, Joyce Byrne, and aunt Catherine Clark.

He was born in Glasgow, KY. He graduated from Valley High School in Louisville, graduated with a Bachelors of Science in civil engineering from the University of Kentucky, and a master's of transportation engineering from Yale. Bill had a full life with many facets. He will be most remembered as a devoted and proud father and grandfather who showered his children and grandchildren with wisdom and affection, as an avid UK basketball fan who attended many games with friends and family, and as a community servant giving back, through his profession and volunteering, to the Louisville community that had helped him as young boy and during his career as an engineer. Bill enjoyed reading, travelling, playing tennis and playing basketball.

Visitation will be at Arch L. Heady and Son at Westport Village on Friday from 5-7 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. Burial will be at Cave Hill Cemetery on Saturday at 10 a.m.
