John Richard Fullington Jr., 59, of Clearfield passed away Friday, July 13, 2012, at Clearfield Hospital.
Born Jan. 8, 1953, at Clearfield, he was a son of J. Richard "Dick" Fullington St., and Mildred "Tillie" (Fink) Fullington.
He was a 1971 graduate of Clearfield Area High School, where he was a four-year letter-man in track and basketball. He also participated in chorus.
In 1975, he graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in accounting.
Mr. Fullington worked at the family businesses of Fullington Auto Bus Co. and Fullington G.M.C. Sales Inc. He was the owner and operator of the Arrowhead Restaurant in Clearfield.
He also held a black belt in karate, in which he was and instructor and competitor.
He was a member of West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield, and was also a member of the Clearfield Area School District board from 1991-1995.
He is survived by two daughters, Heidi M. Burke and her husband, Mark, of Plymouth, Mass., and Tenley L. Warhurst and her husband, Gene, of Fairhope, Ala.; three grandchildren, Liam, Lily, and Finn Burke, all of Plymouth; a brother, Michael L. Fullington and his wife, Lory, of State College; two nephews, Michael J. and Matthew A. Fullington; and niece, Cassandra L. Fullington; and his former wife, Loretta P. Fullington of Clearfield.
Mr. Fullington was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Aerial Lynn Fullington Weisman.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 18, at 11 a.m. at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, with pastor Paul Bowers officiating.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday, July 17, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday, July 18, from 10 a.m. until the hour of services.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to "The Haven" Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 559 S. Section St., Fairhope, AL 36532.
