Born July 27, 1932 in Tift County, Mr. Cofield was the son of the late J.O. Cofield and Mattie Riller Stapler Cofield. He was a retired textiles worker and a Baptist.
A funeral will be Wednesday, July 15, at Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home, with Vachel Stapler officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, with Sammy Acree, Thomas Cofield, Tracy Cofield, Norman Whitley, Lt. Douglas Meadows and Charlie Stapler serving as pallbearers.
Survivors include his brother, R.J. Cofield, and niece, Betty Ann Acree, both of Newnan.
