R. J. Cofield, 77, Newnan, died May 19, 2001. He was born June 24, 1923 in Tifton, Ga., the son of the late J. O. and Mattie Riller Stapler Cofield. He was retired from the cotton textile industry.
Services were at the Hillcrest Chapel, Newnan, with Brother Roy Lee Coggin officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan.
Survivors include a niece, Betty Ann Acree, Newnan; and great-nephews, Thomas Cofield and Tracy Cofield, both of Carrollton.
