Funeral services for Thelma E. Michaels, 96, of Clearfield will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Clearfield, with the Rev. Dr. Duane A. White officiating.
She entered into God's eternal care Saturday, Aug. 31, at her residence.
Interment will be at Crown Crest Memorial Park.
Friends will be received at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 6-8 p.m. and at the church Friday, Sept. 6, from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of services.
Born Nov. 18, 1916, at Surveyor, she was a daughter of John and Gussie (Wilson) Bain.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Michaels was a member of Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
She is survived by three children, David L. Michaels and his wife, Joyce, of Clearfield, Nancy L. Hutchings and her husband, Richard, of State College and Judith L. Shaw and her husband, Hugh, of Clearfield: 12 grandchildren, Lori Beth Michael of Enola, David L. Michaels II and his wife, Janice, of Dillsburg, Douglas Michaels of Clearfield, Sherri Wellar and her husband, Rodney, of Julian, Suzi Spicer and her husband, Rick, of State College, Michael Hutchings of Newville, Sandi Schindler and her husband, Kenneth, of State College, Shelli Corl and her husband, Ryan, of York, Cheryl Hirschbeck and her husband, William, of Clearfield, Lonnie Bell and her husband, Daniel, of Clearfield, Randy Shaw and Stacy of Mechanicsburg, and Eric Shaw and his wife, Tracy, of Exton; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-gre4at-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Michaels was the last member of her generation, having been preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph W. Michaels, whom she wed Nov. 20, 1939, and who passed away July 14, 1997; two sisters, Althea Shaw and Ann Rizzuto; three brothers, Robert, William and Jack Bain; and two great-grandchildren, Brittany Spicer and Christopher Schindler.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church Missionary Fund, 45 Alliance Road, Clearfield, PA 16830; or DuBois Hospice, 90 Beaver Drive, DuBois, PA 15801.
