Ashfield - The funeral of Mrs. Alice Myrtle (Howes) Pomeroy, 43, of Hudson, N.Y., will be held here today at 3 p.m. in Ashfield Congregational church with Rev. John H. Philbrick, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plain Cemetery. Mrs. Pomeroy died Thursday in Hudson. She was born in Ashfield, the daughter of Mrs. Raymond Howes and the late Mr. Howes. She attended Sanderson Academy in Ashfield and Springfield Academy of Beauty Culture in Springfield. Before her marriage Aug. 25, 1940 to Rayford Thornton Pomeroy of Longmeadow, she owned and operated the Longmeadow Beauty Salon. She leaves her husband and two children, Judy and Rayford, Jr., all of Hudson, N.Y.; her mother of Ashfield; three brothers, Ralph, Emeroy, and Berton all of Ashfield; one sister Mrs. Olen Graves of Williamstown, and several nieces and nephews.
