The Christopherson name was changed to Johnson,taking her father's first name and adding son. She later married Nels T. Nelson in Geneva,Illinois. She died during the birth of her third child 1 Nov 1876.
Her two children were raised by Nels & Maria Christina's sister Ella who married Nels after her sister died. Another child was born to Ella & Nels Nelson, Julia born 11 Jul 1881.
