Steven Carl Alexander, 53, Kansas City, North passed away on May 25, 2013 at the NorthCare Hospice House, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Steve was born on June 16, 1959 in Pittsburg, KS to Robert and Donna (Radford) Alexander.

He graduated from Windsor High School in 1977 and received a double major from Central Missouri State University in political science and business administration.

Steve married Khadija Erraji on July 12, 2003. Then came the family Steve had wanted for so long, with the birth of their two sons Amir and Ryan.

He was an avid hunter, a passion he wanted to share with his sons. He enjoyed watching the boys play soccer and taking them fishing.

Steve worked in the lumber industry most of his life. He and his business partner, Tom Smith co-founded KC Deck Supply.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother Donna. He is survived by his wife Khadija and sons Amir and Ryan, ages 7 and 5, of the home; father Bob (Amy) Alexander of Kansas City; 2 sisters Pam (David) Kile of Greenwood, MO and Janet (Rodger) Hamilton of Kansas City, MO and many extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the children's college savings fund, payable to: MOST-Missouri's 529 College Savings Plan

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from 5-6:00 p.m. at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. A sharing of memories and celebration of Steve's life will follow at 6:00 p.m. Graveside services and burial will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Mulberry Cemetery in Mulberry, KS.
