Jeanne Preston (Beckwith) Gibson, 71, of Greenville, SC, died Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown.

Born in Greenville County, Mrs. Gibson was the daughter of the late Keith Legare and Susan (Walker) Beckwith.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Carroll Allen Gibson, who died 10 days earlier on May 28, 2005.

A homemaker, she was a member of Christ Church, Episcopal and the Junior League of Greenville.

Surviving are a daughter, Preston McAfee (John) of Greenville; two sons, Carroll Allen Gibson Jr. (Wendy) of Charleston, and Keith Legare Gibson (Stephanie) of Tampa, FL; two sisters, Eliza Pam Palmer Beckwith (1936–2016) and Susan B. Alderman (Joe) of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Walker, Andrew and Gordon Gibson of Charleston, Jay and Allen McAfee of Greenville and Caroline, Campbell and Lee Gibson of Tampa, FL.

Memorials could be made to St. Francis Hospice, 414-A Pettigru St., Greenville, SC 29601.

Graveside services were conducted Saturday, June 11, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
