Pfc. Jack Russell Colby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edward Colby of Green Street, Au Sable Forks, New York, was killed in action March 4, 1945 in Italy.

Pfc. Colby, who was married before he went overseas, was drafted in 1944. He was formerly employed by the Coleman Lumber Company. He attended school in Au Sable Forks and was well and favorably known by many. Besides his parents and wife he is survived by a brother, Jesse Colby of Green Street.
