Jim Ballard was the son of John Ballard and Bertha Langton (both buried at Greenleaf); he had the following siblings: Sallie Ballard Hendricks and Loretta Ballard Jones, both of Tahlequah; Howard Ballard who married Rosie and Hubert Ballard who married Betty, both of Tahlequah; and Maudell Ballard Wichliff, Margie Ballard Oung, and Ima Jean Ballard Sparks.
He married Lena Faye Prichett (buried at Greenleaf); they had the following children: Joyce Ballard who married Leon Torix; Lois Ballard who married Tim Wofford of Tahlequah; Terry Ballard who married Brad Taft of Grand Prairie, TX; and Jimmie Blood Worth of Ratliff City; Cecil and Gerald Ballard both of Tahlequah.
He is survived by 10 grandchildren: Jimmy Don Bloodworth, Kevin Wilson, Jennifer (Stephen) Conpean, Gary Torix, Bethany Gains, Jessica Wofford, Tammie Wofford, Sarah Wofford, Kaelynn Taft and Gregory Taft; and a great-granddaughter: Lillian Conpean. He was preceded in death by a grandson: Greg Torix.
Jim enjoyed fishing, traveling, playing the fiddle, and chicken fighting.
