Beloved husband of Rose A. Cooper, loving father of Karen L. Lyke and husband Olie, and Michael Cooper and wife Dawn; son of the late Josephine Furtado A.K.A. Ross and Frank Avila, brother of Melvin R. Cooper and dear wife Mary; grandfather of Samantha, Benjamin and Olivia Cooper.
A native of Santa Rosa and a lifelong resident of Sacramento, age 89 years. Retired U.S. Navy CBM, retired Captain of the Port of Sacramento Police Department; a member of the Fleet Reserve and SIRS Branch #67.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Rosary Service at W. F. Gormley and Sons Chapel Thursday, February 18, at 7 p.m. Interment will be at Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery at a later date.
Remembrances may be made in his memory to Sutter VNA Hospice or American Heart Association.
