Carl Wayne Hopkins left his earthly bonds to go to Heaven on Friday, May 20, 2005. Carl passed away at Katy Memorial Hospital in Katy, TX. Carl Started this life on April 7, 1949 in El Reno, OK. He was the third son of Irene Mason Hopkins and Wilburn J. Hopkins of Guthrie, OK. Carl was married to Martha Hopkins for a short time, and they part friends. Then on May 9, 1977, Carl married his loving and devoted wife, Vonda Branson Hopkins. Together they moved to Katy, TX where two beautiful daughters were born, Courtney LeAnn Hopkins Miller, age 26 and Heather Celeste Hopkins, age 25. Carl loved and adored his daughters. While moving to Katy, TX took him from Guthrie and his parents and many other relatives and friends; Carl started his dream of a hunters paradise. Carl lived to be outdoors and to hunt. It didn't matter if it was ducks or geese or deer, Carl loved it all. Vonda and Carl have lived Carl's dream for 25 years. Carl will be greatly missed. He was a true friend and a beloved mentor and father and husband. He leaves behind his wife Vonda and their daughters Courtney and Heather; two brothers, Leslie and wife Nancy Hopkins of Galveston, TX, Gary and wife Gretchen Hopkins of Garland, TX; 3 aunts on his mother's side, Mrs. Leta Sell and husband Bob Sell of Riverton, WY, Mrs. Della Armas and husband Karl Armas of Fallon, NV, Mrs. Ruby Edens and husband Bob Edens of Guthrie, OK; his mother in law, Mrs. Willma Branson and husband Emmit Branson of Crescent, OK; sister in law Lavon Rigdon and husband Mike Rigdon of Crescent, OK; brother in law, David & wife Wanda Branson, many nieces & nephews cousins and friends who will greatly miss him. Funeral services are Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at Schmidt Funeral Home in Katy, TX, 1:30 in the afternoon. Burial will be at Katy Magnolia Cemetery in Katy, TX.
