Margaret "Peggy" Strachota, 86, died Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a brief but severe illness.

Margaret was born October 5, 1926, to Frank and Mazel Barden in Wausau. She married Russell Strachota on August 21, 1948, in Wausau. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1997.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary Kay (DeWayne) Gasman, Hudson WI; Janie (David) Menebroeker, Wausau WI; sons, Rev. Michael Strachota, Nashotah WI; Danny Strachota, Cumberland WI; Tim (Debbie) Strachota, Kronenwetter WI; Kevin Strachota, Wausau WI; Tom (Nikki) Strachota, Appleton WI; eight grandchildren, Heather, Shannan, Maria, Brandon, David, Katie, Alyssa, and Aidan; four step-grandchildren, Aaron, Amanda, Adam, and Alex; four great-grandchildren, Blake, Jett, Ava, Owen and Avonlea; four step-great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Noah, Elliana, and Lydia; brothers, Pat Barden, Appleton WI; Tom (Sandy) Barden, Wausau WI; and Jim (Sue), Lansdale PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gene Barden.

Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
