Thomas J. Vennum Dead
Thomas J. Vennum died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wm. Axtell, three miles north of this city, Monday morning at 6:25 o'clock. He was sick with chronic trouble several years and his death was not unexpected.
Funeral services were held at the residence Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. F. W. Imboden.
Thomas J. Vennum was born in Washington county, Pa., May 7, 1832; died at Medicine Lodge, Kansas, July 26, 1909, aged 77 years, 2 months, 18 days.
For the past ten years he has lived most of the time in or near this city. Mrs. Vennum died several years ago. He is survived by three sons and two daughters--Henry, Schuyler and Frank Vennum, Mrs. Wm. Axtell and Mrs. Rancy Binning. Mrs. Axtell is the only one residing here.
The sons and daughters have the sympathy of the community in their sorrow.
He is my Great,Great Grandfather.
