Daisy High Bailey, 88

Centertown community resident and Warren County native Daisy High Bailey, 88, was born Feb. 16, 1926 and died Oct. 9 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following and extended illness.

A homemaker and member of the Bratcher's Crossroads Free Methodist Church, she was the daughter of the late Jeff Thomas and Hallie Mae (Moore) Mears. She was married to Ernest T. Bailey, who preceded her in death in 1978. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three infant sisters; two sons, Melvin Edward and Ernest Paul Bailey; grandson, Thomas Eugene Zahn; half-brother, Aubrey Mears; half-sister, Margaret Tramel and stepmother Ollie Durham Mears.

Mrs. Bailey is survived by four children and their spouses, Carolyn and Paul Zahn and Jereal Dean and Mark Dyer of Calhoun, Ga., and Jean and Roger Black of Murfreesboro; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; five half brothers, Johnny, Thomas, Charlie and James Mears, all of McMinnville, and George Mears of Woodbury; eight half sisters, Florene Cox, Maggie Lawrence, Treva Hutchins, Joyce Davis and Edna Young, all of McMinnville, Roberta Collins of Shelbyville, Anita Davis of Woodbury, and Wallene Mears of Smithville, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in High's Chapel with Jarvis Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Centertown Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service Sunday at High's.

High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
