Vandora Mae Bennett, age 95, of Reynoldsville, West Virginia, formerly of East Enterprise, Indiana, was born August 30, 1917, in Switzerland County, Indiana, near Florence, Indiana, the daughter of the late, Dilmer & Susie (Noble) McClellan. Vandora attended school Switzerland, Indiana, where she marriaged on August 14, 1937, in Vevay, Indiana, William J. "Bill" Bennett. & They had one daughter, Linda L. Flood, who passed away on October 12, 2011. Vandora & Bill shared nearly 53 years of marriage together until his death on January 6, 1990. They were farmer most of their lives and She was a member of the East Enterprise Home Economics Club, the Switzerland County Farm Bureau & the Markland Baptist Church. She resided most of her life in Switzerland County. Vandora is remembered as a wonderful homemaker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother. Vandora died at 3:15 am, Friday May 24, 2013, at the Heartland Nursing Facility in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Vandora will be missed by her grandchildren: Mark Flood & his wife: Angela of Reynoldsville, WV; Danny Flood of East Enterprise, IN; her great-grandchildren: Christopher Flood, Stephanie Flood Buchanan & Amanda Flood.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Dilmer & Susie (Noble) McClellan; her husband: William J. "Bill" Bennett; her daughter: Linda L. Flood; her son-in-law: Melvin G. Flood; her sister: Helen Marie McClellan.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, May 29, 2013, by Pastor Bobby Brundige Jr., at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
