Thomas Lovett was born about 1836 in Philadelphia, PA. His parents were John Lovett and Isabella McBride. His siblings were: Patrick 1823, John 1825, Terence 1828, Joseph 1830, Alexander 1832, (all born Ireland),
Mary Ann 1834, and Benjamin 1839, (all born Philad).

Thomas was a boatman and was possibly in the Civil War.
His wife was Bridget Dunbery born about 1826 in Ireland. Their children were:
1 Mary 1857
2 Ellen (Sister Mary Avellino) 1858-1910
3 John 1862-1863
4 Isabelle 1864-1865
5 Sarah 1865-1876 (could be same person as Margaret on census)
6 Margaret 1865

1860 Philadelphia PA, Thomas 30 a Boatman, Bridget 30, Mary 3, Ellen 9 mos. They were living with the Brant family.

1863 Their son John died according to the Philadelphia PA Death Records. He died on September 17, 1863 of congestion of the lungs and was only 11 months old. He was buried at (old) Cathedral Cemetery. They were living at 2508 Pine Street. Their daughter Isabelle died just a few years later.

Thomas died on Dec. 11, 1866 at Philadelphia, PA.
Philadelphia Death Certificates, Thomas Lovett, age 50, died Dec. 11, 1866 of Valvular disease of heart, Dr. W Perching, Conshohocken St, burial Dec. 17th at Cathedral Cemetery.

the 30th year of his age. Relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend his funeral from the home at Ninth and Green Streets on Saturday.

I Thomas Lovett of Conshohocken County of Montgomery and State of Pennsylvania, Boatsman, Being of sick and weak of body but of sound mind, memory, and understanding. I give and bequeath all my Canal Boat called the "John Lovett" with all the apprentances, also all my two mules together with all the Harness thereto belonging. also all my seven shares of stock in the National Savings and Loan Association. together with all my Personal Property, and Real Estate. to my wife Bridget Lovett and my children.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal at Conhohocken this Twelth day of December A.D. 1866. Thomas Lovett.

Not sure that these were Thomas, some could be nephews as he may have been living in Conshohocken PA at some point. He was definitely the listing for "boatman."
Brother Terence also had a son Thomas.
