Bartholomew Keown was Sheriff and Collector of Benton County, Missouri from 1844 to 1847 and from 1858 until his capture at the Skirmish at Blackwater Creek on December 19, 1861. He was charged with "spying and robbing loyal citizens" and died in prison (not sure which one) before a trial was held.
