Noble J. Campbell, 85, passed away May 24, 2013 in Austin, Texas.

Noble was born on October 27, 1927 in Glendale, Texas to Nolan and Emma Campbell.

He attended area schools and, in 1945, graduated high school in Groveton, Texas. After high school, he was drafted into the United States Army. After his first tour, Noble was preparing to re-enlist in the Army, and was then told he would qualify to receive a G.I. Bill. He looked at this as a turning point in his life. Not taking this opportunity for granted, he began his studies at Texas A&M University, where he later received a degree in civil engineering. After college, he began working at Humble Oil Company (now Exxon) as a surveyor. He met and married his wife, Margaret Campbell, on May 10, 1954.

Family was important to both Noble and Margie. While in Louisiana, they proudly adopted two children- Lisa Kaye and Jeffrey Wayne. It was at this time he decided to search for a good place to raise a family, and he moved his family to Austin in 1968. Once in Austin, he worked for the Texas Department of Water Resources as a surveyor- responsible for surveying dams on Texas lakes and rivers.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Margie.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Clayton, her husband John and their daughter Audrey (his only grandchild, whom he loved and adored); his son, Jeffrey Campbell and his wife, Tammy; his sister, Peggy Anderson and nieces Beth Ann Bridwell, Linda Putman and Kathy Nelson.

The funeral service will be conducted at Glendale Congregational Methodist Church, Glendale, Texas with Rev. Barbara Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Glendale Cemetery.
