Warren G. Winnett, Sr., 76

Morrison resident and Warren County native Warren G. Winnett Sr., 76, died unexpected July 15 at Baptist DeKalb Hospital.

A retired carpenter and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was the son of the late Willie Calvin and Lizzie (Holder) Winnett and was preceded in death by four sisters, Jessie Mae Young , Mattie Les Underhill, Pauline Wilson and Hattie Marie Milligan; and one brother, Robert Winnett.

He is survived by his wife, Estella Newby Winnett; three sons, Warren G. Winnett Jr. of McMinnville, Reneigh and James Winnett, both of Morrison; one brother, Billy Winnett of Centertown; and two grandchildren, Joseph Edward Winnett and Savannah Brooke Winnett, both of Morrison.

Services were held Thursday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. H.B. (Brownie) Smith officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

High's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
