Agnes Elizabeth (née Williamson) Short

Agnes Elizabeth (née Williamson) Short was born on Sunday, May 13, 1923, in Greenwood DE, to Luther J and Mary Elizabeth "Manie" Williamson.

Agnes loved her home and tending to her vegetable garden and to her many flowers. She enjoyed traveling the world over. She was an expert seamstress and had her own ceramics shop for several years. Cooking & baking for her friends and family gave her great joy. Her greatest loves were her family, friends and her beloved dog, Spunky.

Agnes, formerly of Camden DE, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, surrounded by family and loved ones at her daughter's home in Lincoln University PA. She was 94 years old.

In addition to her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by her husbands, Alfred Bradford Carter and Floyd Manlough Short; her brothers, Lewis Williamson and Philip Williamson; her sisters, Marie Williamson and Mabel Savage; and her son-in-law, Charles Lester. She is survived by her daughter, Laura E Lester of Lincoln University PA; her son, F Michael Short and his wife Susan of Lewes DE; her 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth Sharp (Tom) of Lincoln University PA, Kristina Molnar (David) of Lincoln University PA, Charlene Petersen (Michael) of Reistertown MD, and Chad Lester (Jennifer) of Lincoln University PA; her 9 great-grandchildren, Kai, Zachary, and Jacob Sharp, Raleigh and Kameron Molnar, Olivia and Axel Petersen, and Aleah and Thaxton Lester; and her nieces, Mary E Wiley of Lincoln DE, Delores Fountain and Elaine Ventura of Milford DE.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, November 27, 2017, at Torbert's Funeral Chapel, 1145 E Lebanon Road, Dover DE 19901. Interment followed at Odd Fellows Cemetery, in Camden DE.
