Charles Amos, 78, of 316 South Avenue, died in the Casey Nursing Home here last night following a long illness.
The deceased was born in England, August 7, 1873, and came to the United States with his parents when he was 8 months old. For 34 years he resided on Lee Street where he was engaged in farming. He retired 8 years ago and has since lived in Medina.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lulu Whiting Amos, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Amos was a member of the Knowlesville Grange where he was a charter member and had continued his membership for 45 years. He was also a member of the State and National Granges. He was a charter member of Orleans County Farm Bureau.
Funeral services will be held at the Hartt Funeral Home on Sunday, April 6, at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Reginald Cory will officiate and burial will be in Millville Cemetery.
