Matthew Douglas Howard peacefully returned home to his Heavenly Father on May 15, 2013 at his home in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born February 4, 1980 to Gina Adams Howard and Douglas Pack Howard in Bountiful, Utah, as the first child and grandchild his family eagerly awaited his arrival. He would soon be joined by four brothers and a sister; all of whom he loved. His early years were spent in Farmington, Utah, before moving with his family to Bountiful, Utah. Matt attended Bountiful High School where he served on the Bountiful Youth Council. In addition to high school, Matt also took classes at the University of Utah. Graduating with honors in 1998 Matt decided to continue his educational pursuits at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia; a city he would come to love. During his time at Emory Matt found acceptance and developed deep and lasting friendships. He especially loved his time as a rower and coach on Emory Crew. Working as a volunteer rowing coach for new college students, he was able to support the development of confidence and self-esteem among athletes. During college Matt worked at the non-profit Atlanta Research and Education Foundation that conducted medical research. In 2002 Matt graduated from Emory with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Architecture. Continuing his education Matt became a Point Scholar from 2005 - 2007 attending Dartmouth College - The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth where he received his MDA in 2007. Upon graduation Matt began working at Eli Lily where he continued his love of helping people working in Oncology research and development. This job gave Matt the opportunity to travel the world working with developing countries to provide the latest cancer drugs available to those who needed it. Known for his kindness, loyalty, generosity and love; Matt was a hero to many. He is survived by his parents, Gina and Doug Howard, Bountiful, Utah; brother, Peter (Laura) Howard, Belle Fourche, South Dakota; sister Eliza (Jeff) Wellman, Rockland, California; brothers, Ben Howard, Salt Lake City, Utah; Aaron Howard, Bountiful; Utah, Adam Howard, Bountiful, Utah; Grandparents, F.
