He served in the United States Marines and retired from the Army National Guard.
He was a life member of the VFW Post 9095. He loved hunting and fishing, liked to play cards and enjoyed dancing.
He is survived by five brothers, Junior Stricklin, of Little Rock, Odell Stricklin, Samuel Stricklin, Tommy Stricklin, and John Daniel Stricklin, all of North Little Rock; two sisters, Mary Magdeline Smith, of Des Arc and Annie Marie Lemmons, of Clinton; his companion of 30 years, Ann Sandusky, of Mayflower; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in the death by three brothers and two sisters.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at North Little Rock Funeral, a Smith Family Funeral Home.
