Statesville Landmark - Tue Oct 4, 1898 - Marriage This Afternoon - Miss Mary Dorcas Willson and Mr. Clarence Montgomery Steele will be united in marriage in the Methodist church at 5:45 o'clock this afternoon. The ceremony will be performed by the bride's father, Rev. James Willson. Messrs EG Gaither and JB Foster will be ushers and the following are attendants: Miss Laura Wilson, sister of the bride, maid of honor; Misses Mabel Turner and Daisy Turner, of Statesville, and Misses Pearl Simpson and Lillian Wyche, of Turnersburg; Messrs Oscar Steele, Orrin Turner, JL Sloan, Thad. Montgomery and Alex Vaughn.Miss Pearl Ogburn of Monroe will play the wedding march, and Misses Lizzie and Grace Steele will be flower girls. Immediately after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Steele will leave for Norfolk, NY and other points on their wedding tour. The groom is a member of the firm JC Steele and Sons, is a popular young businessman and a most estimable gentleman in all respects. The bride is an accomplished and popular young lady.
