Claude Lee Bennett, Jr. who friends and family called Butch, passed away early morning on Monday, May 20, 2013. He was born in Little Rock on February 23, 1945 to the late Claude L. and Onie Mae (Golden) Bennett of Little Rock.

He loved life and loved the freedoms of America. He loved to ride motorcycles and he put a lot of time into fixing up his motorcycle. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also knew the Lord Jesus Christ. He loved life and was glad he got to know his children better in the end of his life. He was a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1963-67 on the U.S.S. Graffis.

Butch is survived by children, Charles "Chuck" Rook and wife, Michele of Little Rock and Rachel Slate and husband, Paul of Benton; twin sister, Claudine Dillman and husband, George of Cody, WY and sister, Julia Reynolds and husband, Bobby of Little Rock; grandchildren, Samatha Shellnutt, Jonathan Shellnutt, and Katherine Rook, all of Benton; aunt Jean Jeans of Blevins; and numerous cousins and friends.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2013 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 W. Maryland Ave., NLR, with Bro. David Harris officiating.
