John Luethof passed away at the County Poor Farm at about the age of 50 years. Mr. Luethof was brought to the poor farm by Sheriff McMillan about two hours previous to his death with the intention of giving him a home there. The deceased did not feel well, but not withstanding his illness, ate a hearty supper. After supper he disappeared and about two hours later his body was found in an outhouse. The cause of death was an attack of heart disease. The remains were interred in the poor farm cemetery

From the Herald 4/25 1902

A well known character about town who answered to the name of John Littolf died very suddenly at the poor farm last Monday night. Sheriff McMillan took the fellow to the farm on Monday and had just had him installed there when he was notified that Littolf had died from an attack of heart disease. Littolf was a native of Switzerland and was know at times as John the Switzer.

From the St. Peter Free Press 0 4/26/1902

John Littloff died suddenly at the poor farm last Monday evening of heart failure. He had been a resident of the institution only a few hours, having been taken there that day by Sheriff McMillan.

From the St. Peter Tribune - 4/23/1902
John Lueto, better known as 'Switzer John' died suddenly of heart failure at the county farm on Monday evening last. Sheriff McMillan left Saint Peter on Monday with Mr. Lueto and another old man for the county poor farm to give them a home therein. They arrived there about 6 o'clock p.m. just in time for supper. Sheriff McMillan left for home about 7 p.m. On his arrival in Saint Peter, he was telephoned that Mr. Lueto was dead. It appears that after eating his supper, deceased walked out and was not seen afterward until found dead in an outhouse. He supposedly died from heart failure.

He was a native of Switzerland and served several years in the army of that country. He has been a resident of this section for many years, and worked for some time with Anton Vogel, of Oshawa. He was about 50 years of age.
The death record on Family Search has his name as John Sethof.

the 1900 census record spelled his name Ludolf so with the multiple spellings it's difficult to know if there is a correct one.
