Joselene "Sister" Stevens, 78, of Lubbock, previously of Desdemona, passed away Dec. 5, 2007, in Lubbock. She was born on May 10, 1929, in Blanchard, Okla., to George Harvey Watkins and Retha Lambert. She attended high school in Blanchard, Okla., and college at Patton College and Seminary in Oakland, Calif., where she received her Master's degree in Theology. She married Kenneth Stevens, Jr., on Nov. 29, 1957, in Lubbock. Mrs. Stevens was a homemaker and a former bookkeeper at Good Housekeeping Appliance Center.

Mrs. Stevens was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, John Stevens and wife, Darla, of Dublin, and their daughter, Kristy Gandy and husband, Larry of Sumnter, S.C., and their daughter Cheyanne; Jeff Stevens and wife, Michelle of Merkel, and their sons, Heath and Reed Stevens; daughters, Priscilla Schulz and husband, Edwin of Lubbock and their sons, Seth and Tanner Schulz of Lubbock; Pam Dunlap and husband, Jamie, of Sherman; their sons, Chance, Chase, Ched, and Chaney Dunlap, of Sherman; Paula Abney and husband, Tony, of Lubbock, and their son, Austin Abney, of Lubbock; brothers: George "Son" Watkins, of Palmdale, Calif.; Dale Watkins and wife, Sharee, of Weatherford; Paul Watkins and wife, Judy, of Lubbock; sisters: Alice Lambert, of Mesquite; Betty Kinder and husband, Leon, of Mesquite; Peggy Blevins and husband, Lloyd, of Lubbock; Jerri Ammons and husband, Wayne, of Lubbock; Linda Cannon and husband, Cecil, of Seagoville; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A formal visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, from 9-11 a.m. at White Funeral Home in Lubbock. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m.., Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
