ALEXANDER, Robert P. "Pat," 84, of Chesterfield, passed away April 21, 2013 after complications from surgery. He was born on March 17, 1929 in Hickory, N.C., and moved to Canton, Ohio in 1930. He graduated from McKinley High School and entered the U.S. Army, where he fought in the Korean War from 1950 to 1951. After his service in the Army, he went to work for Whitaker Engineering on the GI Bill for architectural drafting. He was a construction estimator with the company for 60 years. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline S.; and his children, Sherrie Sharp, Patricia Campbell and Scott Alexander; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; stepdaughter, Bonnie Goin; and stepgrandson, Josh Goin; two sisters, Betty Galiher and Christine Collins. The memorial service will be held at the Veterans Cemetery near Amelia at 11 a.m. on May 24. In lieu of flowers, make contributions to the Chesterfield Library as he was an avid reader.
