Betty (Earp) Hugill, 86, died Tuesday, December 29, 2010 at Hernando Pascoe Hospice Care Center in Dade City, Florida. Born April 23, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of Mercer and Georgina (Boffey) Earp. She lived her entire married life in Ravenna, Oh, but the last two years she lived close to her daughters in Zephyrhills, Florida. Mrs. Hugill was primarily a homemaker and devoted wife and mother to her three children. She worked part-time as an inventory clerk at Ravenna Auto Parts alongside her husband, Ed. When she was raising her family she enjoyed boating, dancing, and vacationing in Canada and Florida. Plagued by osteoarthritis, in her later years she enjoyed her homes, phone calls from friends and relatives, TV, and watching old movies. She was predeceased by her parents and by her loving husband of 57 years, Edward Walter Hugill. She is also survived by her daughters, Bev Fick and Debbie Cross of Zephyrhills, Fl along with her son-in-law, Les Cross. She is survived by a son, Edward M. Hugill, and daughter-in-law, Karen Hugill, of Jacksonville, FL. Betty was blessed with 2 granddaughters: Kelly (Mike) Patchen of Broomfield, Co and Erin Cross of Mogadore, OH. She has 3 grandsons: Erik Cross of Jacksonville, FL and Ed and Jim (Krista) Hugill of Chicago, IL. She was fortunate to have 2 great grandchildren, Blake and Ryan Patchen of Broomfield, CO. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 6th, 2011 at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, 11441 Hwy 301, FL. Service will be officiated by Pastor Mike McCormick at noon. Cremation will follow so that her ashes may be laid to rest, at a later date, beside her husband at Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna, OH.
