TWO THOUSAND ATTEND BANKER RAYNOLDS' FUNERAL
Special to the Chieftain

Canon City, March 11. The funeral of Frederjek A Raynalds, banker, philanthropist and one of Fremont county's most prominent citizens, took place this afternoon from the First Presbyterian Church. Although the weather was severely cold and snow was falling at least 2,000 people gathered to pay tribute of respect to his memory-----------The floral offerings were most profuse and beautiful and filled the whole front end of the church. The interment took place at lakeside cemetery.--------He yearly dispensed thousands of dollars among the poor and distressed and the recipients of his charity never knew from whence the favors came.-----Mr Raynalds was sole owner and manager (Fremont County Bank)to the effect by his will, Mrs. F.A. Raynolds becomes sole owner of all his property-----The assets of the bank already over $1,000,000 will be strengthened by the large amount of his life insurance left by Mr. Raynolds which is over $130,000.-----Among other prominent persons present were Judge Cherry of Silverton, Senator Beekwith of Custer County, Dr. Blake of Silver Cliff, C.P. Hoyt of Golden, A.R. Gumaer of Florence, N.F. Handy surveyor of customs, Denver; Joseph Milson, Melter of the United States mint and Harry Donovan of the Banker's Trust company, New York.
