Phyllis Rae Vaupel. daughter of William and Mary (Holan) Chopp. was born on March 28, 1931 near Narka and died on May 1, 2008 at Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, NE.
While growing up she attended Island Grade School and graduated from Narka High School. After graduating , she attended Brown Mackie School of Business.
She married Charles Henry Vaupel on June 6, 1952 in Salina and to this union three children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Doris Jane Filipi and brother-in-law Leroy Weyh. She is survived by her husband; son, Randy; two daughters, Terri Jo Ferris and Mary Claire Kraus; one grandson; sister, Mary Ann Weyh; brother-in-law, Frank Filipi; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in National Cemetery south of Narka, Kansas
