Terri Jo Ferris, the daughter of Charles H. and Phyllis Rae (Chopp) Vaupel, was born on July 8, 1955 in Salina, Kansas. She passed away on April 16, 2011 near East Bend, North Carolina at the age of 55 years.
Her childhood was spent in Lincoln, Kansas until age eight, when the family moved to Superior, Nebraska. She graduated from Superior High School in 1973. Upon graduation she moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where she attended Lincoln School of Commerce and enter the business world. During this time she lived and worked in Lincoln, Nebraska; Topeka, Kansas; and Kansas City, Missouri.
She found time to meet, fall in love, and marry Paul A. Ferris. This union took place at the United Methodist Church in Superior on April 23, 1983. To this marriage was born one son.
After marriage, she lived in Atlanta, Georgia and near East Bend, North Carolina. She enjoyed photography with her son, himself and avid photographer. She loved all God's creatures and sheltered many through the years, feeling a special need to care for cats abandoned on or near her acreage.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis Rae Vaupel. Survivors include her son, Paul "Alex" Ferris; father, Charles Vaupel; brother, Randy; sister, Mary.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM from the United Methodist Church in Superior, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. Jocelyn Tupper officiating. Private inurnment in the National Cemetery, Narka, Kansas. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, NE was in charge of the arrangements.
