SUMMIT, ARKANSAS - Delsie (Arnold) Martin died Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at the Marion County Nursing Home in Yellville, Arkansas. She was 96.

Mrs. Martin was born October 16, 1909 in Iuka, Izard County, Arkansas to Joseph and Sylvia (Young) Arnold. On October 10, 1931, she married Cleo R. Martin. She was a retired beautician, who owned her own beauty shop for many years, was a member of the Yellville United Methodist Church, and an Eastern Star.

Mrs. Martin was preceeded in death by her parents, a brother, and five sisters.
She was survived by a son; a daughter; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Thursday, January 5, 2006, at the Yellville United Methodist Church with Reverend Nick Lascaro officiating. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the church and staff of the Marion County Nursing Home. Burial followed in the Layton Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Yellville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1195, Yellville, AR 72687. Arrangements were under the direction of the Burns Funeral Home of Yellville.
